Non-Stick doesn't last

I purchased this pan because my wife has had a set of Chantal cookware for over 20 years and they are still great. I have had this pan for 6 months and have treated it with kid gloves; I can't cook an egg without the entire surface being coated and impossible to clean. I guess this is why this pan is being discontinued.
