The copper is a thin very thin coating. The solder (weld) disconnected the whistle. We bought one for ourselves and then one as a gift. Both have these issues. This company does not allow any negative reviews and will not approve this to be posted. This is actually against the law to do. The Federal Trade Commission has been notified that this is the 3rd attempt to post this review. If you go to Williams Sonoma's website and look at the same kettle you will get the honest reviews. It is 2 stars at best and should no longer be sold. Very misleading!
Reviews good and bad have to be posted by law!
The tea kettle looks like a rich persons tea kettle. It has that fancy copper look. It is also a very functional tea kettle. I think the copper one is a little louder than the silver ones. I also have a silver one. It is so hard to find a descent tea kettle in any store you go in today. Most of them are very cheap and go bad very quickly. I had a couple that I paid $20 for that only lasted for a few weeks from Wal-Mart.
I love this kettle. It's a modern take on a classic, and I actually can't wait for it to patina. It will look great in my vintage/modern kitchen.
The kettle is beautiful. Thank you.
This is certainly a beautiful kettle! I love it, but have found that once I use it and touch the surface it will develop the normal Copper patina. To keep it more new looking I have to clean it with the recommended solution in the Use & Care. It is a little more care, but keeps it looking great. Otherwise it is a 5.
