Chantals Story

This year Chantal celebrates 50 years of strength, determination and success! This milestone would not have been possible without the support of our Retail and Manufacturing partners.
It started in 1970 when, CEO and founder, German-born Heida Thurlow, relocated to the United States and within only a year opened Chantal under it’s incorporated designation. Trained as an engineer, Heida has the distinction of being the only woman in her German engineering school class and the first woman in the U.S. to launch and run a cookware company.

She has received numerous design and utility patents for teakettle, bakeware, and cookware design and innovation. Chantal was the first to bring dramatic color, tempered glass lids and stay-cool handles to the kitchenware marketplace and continues to dedicate itself to the creation of innovative products that bring elegance to the home.
Chantal products feature the healthiest cooking surfaces available today and we pledge to continually look for new innovations and manufacturing techniques which will be ideal for health conscious chefs.
Along the path to 50 years there have been many memories and learning experiences but it is Heida’s perseverance that has kept Chantal going since day one.
This year we commemorate not only half a century of business but we also honor Heida for her will power, persistence and willingness to never take “No” for an answer.
