Well made, modern style. Only concern is flip up (whistling) pour spout is very hot.
I damaged & ruined my kettle when I didn’t close the spout lid, and when it never whistled I forgot about it & accidentally let the water burn out.
I cleaned it and it initially looked fine. However, when I boiled water the next day the seafoam enamel coating crackled off like small pieces of glass. It really can’t be used as I don’t want small pieces of glass constantly left on the kitchen counters. The damage was my fault. But, I’ve never seen a kettle’s enamel damaged and still unfunctional like this.
I don’t think I will order another kettle with enamel on the base, and will likely go back to stainless steel.
We followed the reviews in Cooks Illustrated and we are so happy that we did‼️‼️‼️♥️♥️♥️
A great kettle holding up to 2 liters of water. The metal is thinner than the old standard design, and the enamel more easily knocked off, but the placement of the handle, which allows removal from the burner without a hot pad, is much more functional.
The teakettle works great on my induction cooktop. I purchased it in the orange color and it's a very cheerful tangerine orange color -- exactly what I had hoped it would be.
